A powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit the Philippines at the morning of July 27. Native media mentioning the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported portions of Luzon, together with Metro Manila, felt the impact. Phivolcs reported the epicenter of the earthquake at 2 kilometers northeast of Lagangilang, Abra, at a intensity of 25 km. Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology mentioned the earthquake was once regarded as “shallow” and didn’t pose a tsunami risk to Australia.
