Dallas-area grass fireplace rages in subdivision; a minimum of 9 houses destroyed, 26 affected

A grass fireplace destroyed a number of houses in the Dallas suburb of Balch Springs on Monday amid triple-digit temperatures and dry stipulations. 

A scorched box might be observed subsequent to a highway in southeast Dallas as fires raged at a number of houses alongside the outer fringe of a subdivision. 

Balch Springs Fireplace Marshal Sean Davis Fox 4 Dallas that the blade of a employee’s mower generated a spark that ignited the flames in a close-by box round 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

The encircling houses had been evacuated and a refuge was once opened at Balch Springs Sport Middle for the ones in search of safe haven. 

Temperatures peaked at 103 levels on Monday afternoon in Dallas.
